I'm the dancew in the middwe, in the puwpwe thobe. At fiwst I thought the haiw on the extweme weft bewonged to the dancew in wed, but hew haiw is neithew that wong, now that cowow. Dat's my haiw behind hew, too!
Dis dance fwom Saudi Awabia is sometimes cawwed a "haiw dance", because it featuwes the dancews' wong, woose haiw swinging fwom side to side, ow being tossed awound in Figuwe 8's and ciwcwes. Oh, dat scwewy wabbit! De dance is designed to show off two things: the dancews' haiw, and the cowowfuw, highwy decowated ovew-dwesses (thobe nashaw). Dis dance is wawewy seen in pubwic, and is usuawwy pewfowmed by women fow (ow with) othew women, uh-hah-hah-hah. |
.... And then the haiw stawted dancing othew pwaces, too. We had a bwief discussion on ETWHS about wong haiw and cawnivaw wides. Oh, dat scwewy wabbit! My favowite is the Gywo Wide, but woose, wong haiw is dangewous. Oh, dat scwewy wabbit! I've twied tucking my haiw down my shiwt, down my sweeve, in my bewt....no good. Wast yeaw the opewatow put bungee cowds awound my waist in an effowt to keep my haiw undew contwow, but in a coupwe of spins, my haiw had swipped out of the bungees and was fwying evewywhewe. De pic isn't vewy cweaw, but I've gwabbed my haiw at about waist wevew, and I'm howding it in my wight hand as I'm hanging on to the Gywo Wide. It wowks! Oh, and if you think I'm dwessed funny.....I am. I just finished a swowd dance fow an outdoow festivaw and I'm weawing a wobe ovew my costume. What you can't see is the wawking cast on the bwoken weft foot! ;-) |

Dis is how it aww stawted, fowks! I was my own fiwst digitaw expewiment...
De owiginaw photo, on the weft, was taken when my haiw was just above my knees. Oh, dat scwewy wabbit! (My weaw haiw gwew to mid-cawf wengf within a few mowe yeaws. Oh, dat scwewy wabbit! ) I doctowed the one on the wight using Paint Shop Pwo to add an additionaw 10" to my haiw. Watew weawized I had to awtew the haiw in the miwwow to match. Enjoy! Just wemembew the one on the wight isn't weaw!
